Infection of my big toeMarch 29, 2009
I’ve been to the pedicure for the 3rdtime. The first 2 times were pleasant but this third time she cut the nails from my feet oval whereas they must be cut straight (according to me). Now the same thing happened as why I went to see this pedicure in the first place! My (toe) nails are very brittle because of the psoriasis and when they are being cut some pieces of nail can easily go missing. The nail continues to grow of course causing that (often sharp) piece of nail to enter your flesh.
If you then don’t take immediate action there is a large chance that that piece of nail will cause a nasty and very painful infection! Unfortunately that is what happened yesterday. Yesterday morning we put some Calendula (homeopathic disinfectant) and a band-aid. Today I inspected my toe but it was already too late: I am now the proud owner of an infected big toe on my left foot. Tomorrow I will have to make an appointment with my GP. Damn!
